Contract Services are looking for a highly motivated Trainee Accounting Technician to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience assisting the Finance Manager with the daily transactional activity of the business, across both accounts payable and receivable functions. Whilst not essential, a knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices and some experience carrying out similar work would be advantageous.
THE ROLE:
- Processing and issuing of customer invoices, credit notes and statements.
- Credit control and resolution of any queries as they arise.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure timely monthly invoicing to assist with the on-going monitoring of cash flow.
- Credit card reconciliation.
- Supporting the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of information to statutory authorities including HMRC.
- Maintain strong internal controls, helping to maintain tidy and accurate sales and purchase ledgers.
- Produce ad-hoc reports as and when required, dependent upon operational requirements.
- General administration such as creation of customer and supplier accounts and any other duties relevant to the post which may arise or be requested by the Finance Manager or other departmental managers.
THE PERSON
:
- Part qualified ATI or willing to work towards qualification starting September 25. Study support will be offered.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong IT Skills across MS Suite including Excel (required).
- Be able to follow instructions and demonstrate a high level of self-review in their work.
- Have the ability to prioritize tasks, be organised and time-efficient, and comfortable with working to multiple deadlines.
- Experience using Sage 200 would be beneficial but not essential. Full training will be provided.
