Job Description

Our small and long established acoustics & engineering consultancy has an exciting opportunity for an Acoustic Consultant / Technician to take a lead role in day to day activities under the guidance of an experienced acoustician/owner. We will consider candidates who wish to work either full or part-time; with a variety of acoustic related experience.

Working across Devon & Cornwall you will predominantly undertake Sound Insulation Design & Testing, Noise Impact Assessments, Noise at Work Surveys, and Environmental Surveys.

Ideally candidates will have all or some of the following skills and qualifications:

Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) - Technician / Associate Grade or higher. IOA Diploma in Acoustics or relevant degree level qualification. Certificates of Competence in Building Acoustics / Sound Insulation Testing. Practical experience of undertaking Sound Insulation Testing on dwellings ideally to ANC guidelines. Knowledge of relevant national standards and guidelines including BS4142, BS8233, ProPG: Planning & Noise, Building Regulations Part E, and The Control of Noise at Work Regulations. Familiar with the use of sound level meters and associated equipment. A confident and organised self-starter able to work on your own. Proficient with the use of MS Office suite. Mathematically competent with high standards in accuracy and quality. Awareness of Health & Safety on construction & industrial sites with the ability to write Risk Assessments and Method Statements. Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills. Full driving licence.
