Evedale Care Home is in a quiet Coventry neighbourhood, close to shops and public transport for easy visiting. We provide residential and nursing care, including support for complex medical needs. Specialist teams deliver 24-hour dementia and nursing dementia care with compassion and expertise.
Job Role:
To assist residents in all aspects of their daily activity programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Support residents in daily planned activities, ensuring all individuals feel included and engaged.
Provide extra assistance to residents with limited mobility, physical disabilities, or learning difficulties, using appropriate aids and equipment.
Offer encouragement and stimulation to residents experiencing confusion or behavioural challenges, promoting positive interaction.
Help maintain and improve residents' mental and emotional well-being through meaningful activity and social engagement.
Assist in monitoring resident needs by completing daily written records in line with company policies and under guidance from senior staff.
Encourage residents to continue hobbies and participate in group or individual activities.
Accompany residents to and from off-site activities, ensuring their safety and comfort during outings.
Provide input into activity risk assessments, ensuring activities are appropriate and safe for all participants.
Maintain privacy, dignity, and respect in all interactions with residents, upholding a caring and supportive environment.
Act with integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times regarding residents' personal information.
Report any significant incidents or concerns promptly to the Activities Coordinator or Manager.
Support the implementation of the home's Health & Safety and emergency procedures.
Promote and follow safe working practices in accordance with company guidelines.
Participate in home-wide events and seasonal celebrations, supporting the team with planning and coordination.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
A genuine passion for supporting others and working within a caring, person-centered environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues at all levels.
A positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to collaborate and support others. Open to learning and professional development, including participation in vocational training programmes.
Previous experience working with older adults or individuals with similar care needs is desirable.
