The Role
We're looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity to be part of the everyday life of our residents by helping to create enjoyable, stimulating activities that encourage social interaction and promote wellbeing.
What We're Looking For
A positive, upbeat attitude and a genuine interest in working with older people
Good communication skills
Experience supporting activities or group sessions (experience in a care home setting is helpful but not essential)
Able to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and use your own initiative
Patient, adaptable, and able to support individuals with different needs and abilities
Basic IT skills for simple recording and scheduling tasks
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys engaging with people and helping to create meaningful moments.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in delivering a range of activities that support physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing
Help set up, run, and tidy away planned sessions such as arts and crafts, music, games, and social events
Encourage residents to take part and provide support based on their individual needs
Support with seasonal events, special celebrations, and outings
Keep simple records of attendance and feedback
Work collaboratively with the Activities Co-ordinator and care staff to integrate activities into daily routines
Follow all health and safety, safeguarding, and infection-control standards
