We'd like you to join us as a Activities Coordinator at our service Frenchay in Bristol.
The post is based at the Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre (FBIRC). The FBIRC is the Level 1 specialist inter-disciplinary neuro-rehabilitation centre serving the South West region. The centre operates within a joint working arrangement between North Bristol NHS Trust and Active Care Group.
In this role you will work as part of the Activities Team to plan, organise and implement a social and recreational activity programme within the Centre and also the wider community. This will include both directly providing activities, and involving other staff and volunteers in the programme.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Activities Co-ordinator to join our existing team. The successful candidate will jointly develop and run a programme of social and recreational activities to meet the needs of brain injured patients in the acute rehabilitation setting.
A very rewarding and satisfying job working with patients who benefit greatly from the activity programme.
What you'll be working:
37.5 hours over 7 days a week including weekends and evenings (working time ranges from 9am to 7.30pm)
What you'll be doing:
Organise and implement a comprehensive activities programme which meets the complex needs of the patients in the Centre, running activity sessions (groups or 1:1) individually or with activities colleagues.
Liaise with Therapy and Nursing staff to ensure activities are appropriate to individual patient needs.
Ensure the activities programme encompasses relevant seasonal and cultural events.
Extend current links with community services and charitable/voluntary organisations eg. cinemas, museums, zoos, theatres.
Support and encourage staff and relatives to participate in the activities programme where relevant.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, patients, relatives, carers and volunteers.
Undertake the relevant training to drive the Centre mini-buses.

What you'll have:
NVQ or equivalent.
Experience of working with people with disability
Experience of facilitating/working with groups
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Interest and knowledge in leisure/creative/technical activities
Ability to drive - hold a clean driving licence
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
