Job Description

Woodlands is a small, friendly Nursing Home. We have been awarded an OUTSTANDING rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

We are dedicated to delivering outstanding care and providing a stimulating and inclusive environment to our residents and providing an enjoyable and educational work setting for our staff teams.

We need this position to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be working 3 days per week, 7 hours per day. They need to be flexible across the week, including weekends, as they will be working on a rota basis with our other Activities Co-ordinator.



Responsibilities:



To work with our existing Activities Co-ordinator to organise and plan social activities / diversional therapy, considering residents' particular likes and dislikes

To liaise with Care Staff regarding the care of residents and particular activities that may be beneficial and stimulating

To lead regarding special individual requirements, such as the celebration of birthdays and anniversaries

To liaise with Care Staff regarding special cultural and religious festivals and celebrations, and to be aware of the religious calendars that may affect activity pursuits of the residents

To facilitate and promote a positive environment within Woodlands

To maintain and refresh displays and decorations throughout Woodlands

To plan activities to a set timetable and to ensure that these are communicated to residents and staff alike

To be responsible for distribution of library books throughout Woodlands and replenish the magazine rack

To ensure the provision of specialist media for residents with special needs (video calls, news tapes, book tapes, large-letter books and Braille)

To communicate and liaise with relatives and friends of residents as needed

To correctly document all activities and liaise with Care Staff to ensure that activities are documented as appropriate in Care Plans and in Care Plan records

To work as part of a team to assist the care staff (e.g. assisting residents with feeding at mealtimes, monitor safety in the lounge and dining room)

To organize and attend resident parties (summer party, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Remembrance Day, etc.)

To undertake and assist in other duties, as may be necessary from time to time

Pay: 12.50-13.00 per hour
