Job Summary

The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities for residents in care home settings. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those with dementia and Alzheimer's care needs. The Activities Director will work closely with residents, their families, and staff to create a vibrant community environment that promotes social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation.

Duties

Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents, ensuring inclusivity for all. Coordinate special events and outings that encourage resident participation and foster community spirit. Assess the needs and preferences of residents to create personalised activity plans that enhance their well-being. Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities are safe and suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive function. Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and gather feedback to continually improve programming. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and encourage involvement. Stay informed about best practices in senior care, particularly in relation to dementia and Alzheimer's care.

Experience

Previous experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is essential. A background in senior care or caregiving is highly desirable. Familiarity with dementia care practices and Alzheimer's care strategies is advantageous. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members. A passion for working with seniors and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life through meaningful activities.

Pay: From 12.60 per hour
