Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional activities and wellbeing lead who will be responsible for organising and delivering activities that promote social interaction, engagement, and wellbeing for our residents

This involves creating personalised activity programmes, managing bookings and ensuring safe and enjoyable experiences for individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and Delivery:

Designing and implementing a varied and outstanding program of activities based on resident interests, needs, and abilities. This might include group activities, individual interventions and outings.

Resident Engagement:

Encouraging and supporting residents to participate in activities, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

?

Assessment and Needs:

Identifying individual preferences and needs through observation and interaction, tailoring activities to meet those needs.

?

Risk Management:

Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents during activities, including conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate safety measures.

?

Collaboration:

Working with other care staff, therapists, external organisations and families to ensure a holistic approach to care.

?

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintaining accurate records of activities and resident participation.

?

Booking and Organisation:

Arranging for venues, transport and supplies for activities and outings. Liaising with volunteers and external suppliers, whilst also ensuring that staff participate in the activities whilst supporting the residents.

Working closely with the Manager:

Supporting the Manager to adhere to the requirements of CQC in ensuring the Home is outstanding in the delivery of its responsiveness in the area of activities, wellbeing and lifestyle.

Specific Examples of Activities:

?

Group Activities:

Keep fit exercise sessions, games, music sessions, arts and crafts, quizzes, social events and discussions.

?

Individual Activities:

One-on-one interactions, hobbies, educational opportunities and recreational pursuits.

?

Outdoor Activities:

Trips to parks, museums, theatre, cinema, local attractions and community events (local schools and locations of a religious nature)..

?

Sensory Activities:

Activities designed to stimulate the senses, especially beneficial for individuals with dementia or cognitive impairments (eg Namaste or Montessori).

Skills and Qualifications:

?

Communication Skills:

Ability to interact effectively with residents, staff, external suppliers and families.

?

Organisation and Planning Skills:

Ability to manage schedules, bookings and resources.

?

Knowledge of Activities and Recreation:

Familiarity with various activities and their potential benefits.

?

Understanding of Care Principles:

Awareness of person-centered care and the importance of promoting independence and dignity.

?

Risk Assessment and Safety Knowledge:

Ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.

?

IT Skills:

Ability to use computers and software for planning and documentation.

?

Photography:

Being able to capture the residents participating in activities (both photos and videos) using a smartphone.

?

Social Media:

Experience of posting to Facebook (and also X, Instagram and TikTok) daily to ensure that the Homes' presence is current.

?

PR and Marketing:

Enabling the activities to be a USP for the Home, and for this to be shared via social media, press releases and other communication.

Desired:

? Full UK driving licence and experience driving a minibus.

? Track record of working in health and social care.

? An understanding of the Jewish religion and culture, with experience of Judaism highly desirable.

This position will require some weekend and evening work.



Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday Weekend availability
Work Location: In person
