About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and creative
Activities Coordinator
to join our Care Team at Ashgill Care Home. This role plays a key part in supporting the intellectual, emotional, and physical well-being of our residents through a diverse and engaging programme of activities.
As Activities Coordinator, you will organise and deliver meaningful activities that improve the quality of life for all residents, with particular attention to those who are less physically active. You'll work closely with care staff, families, and volunteers to tailor experiences that reflect the interests and needs of each individual.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver daily activities that support active and healthy living
Create and maintain an ongoing programme that stimulates residents and offers variety over time
Identify group and individual needs and tailor activities accordingly
Encourage involvement from the local community
Collaborate with the wider Care Team, including nurses, care assistants, volunteers, and families
Organise and accompany residents on external outings, ensuring appropriate transport and safety measures are in place
Host and plan special celebrations (e.g., birthdays, Christmas, Easter, St Andrew's Day)
Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities
Update and manage Ashgill Care Home's social media channels with relevant activity content
Work occasional evenings and weekends to support special events
About You
Previous experience working in a care home is
essential
SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare (or equivalent) is
preferred
A warm, engaging personality with strong organisational skills
Confidence in using basic technology and social media platforms
Flexible and willing to adapt your schedule to meet residents' needs
