Pay & Hours:

12.22 per hour 16 hours per week (10am - 4pm, over 4 days) Shift pattern: Mornings, afternoons & evenings, as well as weekend shifts available. Working to a rota covering 7 days per week (every other weekend)

The Role:

Activities make up the most important part of all our days and at HICA we ensure a variety that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the people we support. All group and individual activity is designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth.

As an Activities Support Worker, you will organise, and plan weekly activities tailored to meet the individual needs of our service users promoting independence and making each day as fulfilling as possible. Examples could include seasonal activities such as paint an Easter egg, design a Christmas card, arts and crafts, music & movement, gardening and attractions outside of the home in the local community.

About you:

Previous care work experience is advantageous. Previous experience working with individuals with vulnerable adults with Dementia would be advantageous. Previous experience planning and implementing activities or events. Excellent knowledge of Customer Care Ability to keep accurate and detailed records. Able to work unsupervised and to use your own initiative. Excellent knowledge of confidentiality and its meaning. Can work within a budget.

The Anchorage is a distinguished care home featuring 42 beds, thoughtfully divided into two dedicated dementia communities: the 13-bed enhanced dementia community known as The Haverstoe Suite, and a 29-bed residential dementia community. Successful candidates are required to obtain an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
