Job Summary
Are you passionate about bringing joy and enrichment to others? As an Activity Coordinator at Ladyfield House, you'll be at the heart of creating meaningful experiences for our residents. Your role will be to plan, organise, and deliver a variety of engaging activities tailored to the unique interests and abilities of our community, including those with dementia and cognitive impairments.
From lively social events and creative workshops to gentle exercise sessions and memory-enhancing activities, you'll help foster a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere where residents feel valued, stimulated, and connected. Working closely with residents, families, and our dedicated care team, you'll bring energy, compassion, and creativity to enhance their daily lives--ensuring every day is filled with laughter, purpose, and moments of joy.

2 x 20 hours per week including weekends and bank holidays on a rolling rota
Duties
Develop and implement a diverse range of activities that cater to the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
Collaborate with management team and staff to ensure activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of ability and care requirements.
Communicate effectively with residents to understand their interests and preferences, ensuring their involvement in activity planning.
Organise special events, outings, and themed days that encourage participation from all residents.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and evaluate the effectiveness of programmes regularly.
Provide support and assistance during activities to ensure safety and enjoyment for all participants.
Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages socialisation among residents.
Be computer literate and be able to manage budgets.
Be able to plan and organise theatrical performance; whether that be through dace, music, pantomime or all.
To be able to work alongside all staff, trustees and external contractors.
To promote Ladyfield House in a positive and enhancing manner to all outside bodies.
Qualifications
Previous experience within the role and a care settings is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff members.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Creative thinking skills to develop innovative activity ideas that resonate with our residents.
A compassionate approach towards caring for individuals in a care home environment.
Relevant qualifications in health or social care would be beneficial but are not essential.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about enhancing the lives of residents that have learning difficulties through meaningful engagement and who possess the skills necessary to create a supportive community atmosphere.
