Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Activities Coordinator to join our team at a care home in the heart of our community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing engaging and meaningful activities for our residents.
Duties:
- Plan, organise, and oversee a diverse range of activities and events for residents in the care home.
- Develop and implement programmes that cater to the varying needs and interests of residents, including those requiring dementia care.
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities are inclusive and promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident feedback to continuously improve offerings.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote engagement and participation in activities.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a care home, nursing home, or assisted living facility is desirable but not essential
- Strong understanding of senior care principles and the ability to tailor activities to meet individual needs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with residents requiring dementia care.
- Creative flair in designing engaging activities that enhance quality of life for senior residents.
- Qualifications in health or social care would be advantageous.
