Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those in assisted living and nursing home settings. This role involves planning, organising, and implementing a variety of activities that cater to the interests and needs of our residents, including those requiring dementia care.

Duties

Develop and implement engaging activity programmes that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being for residents. Assess the interests and needs of residents to tailor activities accordingly, ensuring inclusivity for all abilities. Coordinate with staff, families, and volunteers to facilitate events and outings that enhance social interaction and community involvement. Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of activities. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming activities and encourage participation. Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations within the care environment. Provide support to residents during activities, fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Requirements

Previous experience in a similar role within a care home or senior care setting is preferred. Strong understanding of the needs of seniors, including those with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents from diverse backgrounds. A caring attitude with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others through meaningful activities. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Flexibility in working hours to accommodate various activities throughout the week.
