Job Description

Job Purpose



To lead on planning and delivering a rich and varied programme of meaningful activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional wellbeing for all residents. The Activities Coordinator will also support communication with families, enhance the home's visibility, and contribute to individualised care planning.

Key Responsibilities



Activity Planning & Engagement



Design and deliver a balanced programme of daily and seasonal activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities. Organise group sessions, one-to-one interactions, creative workshops, reminiscence sessions, musical entertainment, exercise classes, and themed events. Liaise with external entertainers and performers (e.g. musicians, local groups) to enrich the activity calendar. Plan and run regular coffee mornings to encourage social interaction among residents and create opportunities for community members to spend time with Moorland Garden residents.

Resident-Centred Approach



Collaborate with the care team to prepare

Life Story

profiles for new residents, contributing to person-centred care plans. Support new admissions to feel welcome and engaged. Assist with planned

show rounds

for prospective residents and families, showcasing the home's welcoming and vibrant environment.

Family & Community Engagement



Assist with organising and recording family meetings, including taking notes and distributing minutes. Produce a monthly newsletter featuring recent activities, resident stories, and upcoming events. Encourage family participation and help build relationships with the wider community through events and open days.

Communication & Documentation



Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback. Share relevant activity outcomes with the care team and contribute to reviews of resident wellbeing. Support wider home communication efforts with residents, relatives, and external partners. Working with PCS and writing up care plans and life stories and with consent and reporting to the manager Planning and coordinating daily/weekly/monthly planning with the Manager Taking minutes for meetings in the when required To be dignity champion and lead the staff Team work and help during Lunch time with serving and assisting with food and drinks Working with care staff and other staff with respect and understanding and embracing different culture in the home and celebrating special occasions Oversee the reception when required and escorting residents to hospital when required Promoting and marketing exercise for the home

Health, Safety & Compliance



Conduct risk assessments for all off-site activities. Follow infection control, safeguarding, and safety protocols. Promote dignity, respect, and inclusion in every aspect of your work.

Person Specification



Essential:



Warm, creative, and enthusiastic personality with a person-centred approach Excellent verbal and written communication skills and humble and respect residents, staff and families and professionals and transparency with the management and staff at all times Ability to organise and deliver varied activities for older people, including those with dementia Strong administrative and IT skills (newsletters, scheduling, records) Reliable, and proactive with a "can-do" and I will help attitude, and whole home approach Maintain confidentiality at all times . To Plan and organise and complete duties and tasks within given time To be flexible and work weekends if required depending on the activities planed . Work under pressure and to be Loyal to the Management

Desirable:



Previous experience in a similar role within a care setting Knowledge of dementia care and age-related conditions Background in arts, drama, music, or therapeutic activities Full UK driving licence

Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 37 per week
