, in January 2027. As we prepare to welcome our first residents, we're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Activities Lead to join our team to organise and facilitate engaging activities for residents in assisted living and care home environments.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Care Home and possess excellent communication skills. This role involves creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for our residents. The Activity Leader will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through tailored programmes and personalised engagement.
Duties
Plan, organise, and lead a variety of recreational activities suitable for residents with diverse needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
Foster a positive environment that encourages participation and socialisation among residents.
Assess individual resident preferences and abilities to develop personalised activity plans.
Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with residents' health requirements and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of participation and resident feedback to continually improve activity programmes.
Promote communication between residents, families, and staff regarding activity participation and progress.
Ensure all activities are conducted safely, adhering to health and safety standards within the care environment.
Stay informed about best practices in senior care, dementia support, and activity engagement techniques.
Requirements
Previous experience working in a care home, or similar senior care settings is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents of varying cognitive abilities.
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in improving the lives of older adults.
Ability to organise engaging activities that cater to diverse needs and interests.
Experience in caregiving or senior care roles is advantageous.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
A recognised qualification in caregiving or activity coordination is preferred but not mandatory. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents by providing enriching experiences tailored to their individual needs.
