Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Organiser to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will plan and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs of elderly residents, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors by promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall wellbeing. Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or senior care is highly desirable.

Duties



Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive abilities, including those requiring specialised dementia or Alzheimer's care. Organise group outings, entertainment sessions, arts and crafts, music therapy, and other recreational activities that promote socialisation and engagement. Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident needs and preferences, ensuring activities are personalised and inclusive. Maintain accurate records of participation and residents' responses to activities for ongoing care planning. Encourage resident participation through effective communication and motivational techniques. Ensure all activities are conducted safely, adhering to health and safety regulations. Foster a warm, welcoming environment that promotes independence and dignity among residents.

Skills



Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home settings or senior care environments. Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer's care best practices. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members. Strong organisational skills to plan and coordinate diverse activity programmes efficiently. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for caring for older adults. Ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs and cognitive levels. Creative thinking to develop innovative ways to engage residents in meaningful activities. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
