Activities Team in Powys covering Newtown, Welshpool and Llanidloes
. This small, dedicated team will support adults with learning disabilities to access meaningful, engaging activities across all our services and within the wider community.
About the Role
As part of the Activities Team, you will:
Support individuals to attend a wide range of community and in?house activities.
Work closely with all services to ensure every client has the opportunity to attend the sessions they wish to join.
Help plan, organise, and deliver structured activity timetables tailored to individual preferences and support needs.
Be proactive in finding, setting up, and establishing new ongoing activities
that enhance clients' daily lives.
Plan and deliver ad?hoc trips, events, and one?off opportunities
that promote independence, inclusion, and wellbeing.
Proactively reach out to the wider community
, building strong relationships with local organisations, clubs, leisure providers, and venues to expand opportunities for those we support.
Support individuals during community?based sessions, including
swimming
, and be comfortable entering the pool when required.
Transport individuals safely to and from activities (
driving is essential
). Any driving convictions must be declared and discussed prior to interview.
Promote choice, dignity, independence, and meaningful engagement at all times.
Work alongside and be responsible to the Support Plan Manager
, ensuring all activity plans and strategies are followed.
Work competently with SALT (Speech and Language Therapy) guidelines and plans
, including support with safe eating, drinking, communication, and behavioural strategies.
Deliver personal care as required
, ensuring dignity and privacy.
Administer medication as required
, following company policies, training, and MAR documentation.

What We're Looking For

Comfortable supporting individuals during swimming sessions
Confident engaging with the wider community to build new opportunities
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work effectively within a small, supportive team
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Experience in care or activity facilitation is helpful but not essential -- full training provided
