Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and facilitating engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of our residents, particularly those requiring specialised dementia and Alzheimer's care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents through creative and person-centred activities.

Responsibilities



Design and implement a diverse programme of activities that promote socialisation, mental stimulation, and physical well-being for residents, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, respecting individual preferences and abilities. Collaborate with care staff to assess residents' needs and develop personalised activity plans. Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, gentle exercises, and reminiscence therapy. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments as necessary to ensure engagement and enjoyment. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity outcomes. Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and organisational policies. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote understanding of the activity programme.

Skills



Previous experience working in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia care and Alzheimer's support strategies. Strong communication skills to engage residents with varying needs effectively. Demonstrated ability to organise engaging activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities. Compassionate approach with patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional care. Creative problem-solving skills to adapt activities for residents with special needs or limitations. Pay: 12.50 per hour
