We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care facility. The successful candidate will plan, organise, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of our residents, with a particular focus on senior care, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly individuals by promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive abilities, including those requiring dementia or Alzheimer's care.
Coordinate group outings, entertainment sessions, arts and crafts, music therapy, and other recreational activities.
Foster a warm and inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents.
Collaborate with care staff to tailor activities to individual needs and preferences.
Monitor and evaluate residents' engagement levels and adapt programmes accordingly.
Maintain accurate records of activities conducted and residents' participation.
Ensure all activities are conducted safely in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and team members to promote understanding and involvement in activity programmes.
Skills
Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care best practices.
Strong communication skills to engage effectively with elderly residents, families, and team members.
Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in improving the quality of life for seniors.
Organised with excellent planning skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Ability to adapt activities to meet diverse needs, including those requiring specialised dementia or Alzheimer's care techniques.
