Job Overview:

We are looking for a Activity co coordinator to help run activities in our care home based in Clacton on Sea. You will help to set up activities, deliver sessions and engage service users to get the most out of the activities

As a Activity co coordinator you will be

Identifying suitable activities for our residents through assessment, observation and discussion, ensuring you maintain accurate records Liaising with our residents, relatives, friends and other colleagues, you'll ensure you have a good understanding of resident's interests, abilities and difficulties and encourage participation in activities Planning special events at the home such as garden parties, musical events and day trips, ensuring all activities are carried out within the agreed budget and accurate financial records are maintained Assisting residents with letter writing, shopping and reading, encouraging the pursuit of individual hobbies. Ensuring the activities programme is regularly updated and advertised within the home, including events within the local community Supporting residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care Being part of a team supporting the nurse or senior care assistant in monitoring our residents and reporting change Communicating with residents' families, friends and other healthcare professionals Maintain effective communications, both verbal and written, making accurate reports on residents and inform other members of the senior care team of day-to-day changes. Create a caring and supportive environment in which residents can reach their full potential both physically and mentally Ensure own and, when appropriate, other's actions reduce risks to health and safety Undertake any other duties as required from time to time.

Shift Patterns:

10 am to 3pm ( flexible working can be offered to fit around school hours)

Joseph Nursing and Care Home is a beautiful brand new nursing and residential care home in the sunny seaside town of Clacton-on-Sea in North Essex.

Just set back from the main esplanade, Joseph Nursing and Care Home is set in a sleepy suburban tree-lined road, away from the hustle and bustle of this lovely town, but only a few minutes' walk, if you want to take in some of the seaside fun.

The Home has 16 individual bedrooms, most with walk-in wet rooms/private bathrooms, decorated to the highest standard, and beautiful in design. The Ground Floor is tailored more for specific nursing needs, whilst upstairs can be for nursing needs, but also boasts some beautiful large bay-windowed rooms, for those who enjoy their own company, and are geared towards the elderly residential Residents.
