Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in a care home setting. The successful candidate will plan and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs of older adults, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors by promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or senior care is highly desirable.

Duties

Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities that cater to residents' interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, and outings Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, especially those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease Collaborate with care staff to assess individual needs and adapt activities accordingly Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to inform future planning Coordinate special events and celebrations to promote community spirit within the care home Ensure all activities are conducted safely, adhering to health and safety guidelines Provide emotional support and encouragement to residents during activities to promote engagement and enjoyment

Requirements

Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or senior care environments is preferred Knowledge of dementia care and Alzheimer's care techniques is highly advantageous Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with older adults Demonstrated organisational skills to plan, execute, and evaluate activity programmes Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in enhancing residents' quality of life Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team Caregiving experience or background in care homes will be considered an asset
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 18 per week
