Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Activity Coordinator to join our team and bring vibrant, meaningful experiences to our residents. This role involves planning, organizing, and executing a variety of recreational activities tailored to the needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements such as Alzheimer's and dementia. The ideal candidate will be passionate about enhancing quality of life through engaging social and therapeutic programs.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement diverse activity programs that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being for residents.
Coordinate special events, outings, and recreational therapies that cater to individual interests and abilities.
Collaborate with care staff and family members to assess residents' needs and preferences for personalised activity planning.
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during events to foster independence and engagement.
Manage schedules efficiently to ensure timely delivery of activities while maintaining flexibility for spontaneous or special occasions.
Maintain detailed records of resident participation, progress, and feedback to continually improve programming.
Foster a positive environment that encourages socialisation, emotional well-being, and community involvement among residents.
Qualifications
Experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care environments such as assisted living would be beneficial.
Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and long-term care practices.
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Experience working with people with aging issues or in home & community care settings is highly desirable.
Ability to assist residents with ADLs and provide compassionate care support.
Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly.
