We are looking for a warm, creative, and highly motivated Activity Coordinator to lead the planning and delivery of small, interest-based activities as part of the InVOLve programme.
This role focuses on delivering flexible, low-pressure sessions in community venues and outreach settings, responding to the interests, needs, and moods of participants. You will create safe, welcoming spaces that support people experiencing homelessness to build confidence, develop practical skills, and reconnect socially.
You will also support participants to record their achievements through a skills passport and encourage progression into volunteering, training, or employment opportunities. Working closely with participants, volunteers, peer supporters, and partner organisations, this is a hands-on role where relationship-building is central.
What You'll Be Doing
Planning and delivering regular creative and practical sessions such as arts, cooking, gardening, wellbeing activities, social games, and informal learning opportunities.
Building trusting relationships with participants through outreach and consistent, supportive engagement.
Supporting participants to track progress and celebrate achievements through a skills passport.
Involving volunteers or peer supporters in activity delivery and ensuring they are well supported.
Delivering activities in visible community spaces to promote inclusion and challenge stigma.
Coordinating venues, materials, attendance records, safeguarding, and basic health & safety.
Gathering participant feedback and sharing outcomes with the programme manager.
What We're Looking For
Experience delivering group activities or workshops with disadvantaged or marginalised communities.
A strong understanding of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness.
Friendly, confident communication skills and the ability to engage diverse groups.
A creative and flexible approach, able to adapt activities in response to participants' needs.
Good organisational skills, including managing resources and session logistics.
Confidence using basic IT systems for record-keeping and feedback collection.
Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Ability to travel locally between community venues.
A formal qualification in community work, social care, or a related field, and training in safeguarding, first aid, or mental health awareness are desirable but not essential.
