We are looking for a fun, enthusiastic person to instruct and develop challenging, educational, and exciting activities at our Devizes based centre, and the surrounding area, as part of the learning experience for residential and day visiting groups.
Working in the outdoors, delivering fun and engaging educational activities to children is one of the most rewarding roles you could choose to pursue. Your day will be full of variety, delivering a whole range of activities from canoeing and climbing to orienteering and stream studies. No two days will be the same.
At Braeside Education Centre we offer schools an outdoor residential trip. Our amazing team will guide the schools through their visit, starting with a warm and well-organized welcome and a structured programme of activities throughout their stay.
All relevant Outdoor qualifications are desirable but not essential. Onsite training will be provided with the opportunity to gain relevant qualifications. The right candidate should be able to work well in a team and be confident working with children and adults.
Pro Rata holiday allowance include 2 set weeks in August.
Roles include:
To instruct groups of young people in Climbing and roped activities, Bush craft, canoeing, cycling, orienteering, walking and curriculum-based activities in geography, science and history.
To maintain centre equipment and activities.
To assist with the development of the Centre building and facilities, including grounds equipment, surrounding countryside and environment for the benefit of the client groups.
To assist in aspects of evaluating the service and suggesting improvements.
To work in a flexible manner including evenings and weekends to meet the needs of clients.
To be part of the Centre Team with the responsibility for meeting and welcoming residential groups. Briefing groups on health and safety issues and carrying out introductory talks to groups on the fire alarm and other residential safety matters.
To be 'on call' for appropriate overnight periods as directed by your line manager.
To assist with marketing the centre.
To help develop new centre-based activities.
Note: The above is not an exhaustive list and in addition to the above duties, you may be required to perform other duties. We will not ask you to do anything which is beyond your capabilities. As the needs of our business change, we will amend the above duties accordingly. Over 18 only. wage may vary on age on candidate.
Seasonal contracts available are:
18th February to 23rd October 2026
30th March to 17th July 2026
This is primarily a weekday role but occasional weekend work is required.
