As the Activity Instructor you can expect to...
Work as part of a team to provide fully inclusive and accessible physical activity opportunities for children, young people and adults with a wide variety of disabilities and complex needs
Work to ensure the full operations of a sports and physical activity department with a primary focus on aquatics
Safely operate the leisure facilities as part of a team and ensure the safety of all users
Deliver physical activity sessions to people of all ages with disabilities and health conditions
Actively promote healthy lifestyles to seashell trust students, residents, staff and users from the local community
Activity Instructor Qualifications and Experience
English & Maths GCSE Grade 4 or above (formally Grade C or above) or completion of functional skills English & Maths.
Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification
Fitness Instructor qualification or another Level 2 sports/ physical activity coaching/ instructing qualification would also be advantageous
Willingness to complete RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or National Swim Teacher Rescue qualification within the first 3 months of employment.
Experience of delivering physical activity to all ages and abilities.
Experience of teaching to groups and 1:1 session.
Knowledge of delivery requirements and practices for children, young people, and adults with varying and complex needs.
Experience of delivering physical activity to children, young people and adults with a disability and/or special needs (desirable but not essential).
