The role:




The role of the Group Products Division is to develop and oversee the suite of products and services available to clients of St. James's Place, ensuring they are fairly priced, support business growth and deliver good client outcomes.


The main purpose of this role is to provide actuarial expertise and product technical support to stakeholders across the SJP Group, whilst studying towards the actuarial exams. The role impacts on the business by providing support to Partners and other stakeholders, and ensuring many BAU processes are working effectively.

What you'll be doing:



Assist with the development and testing of advice tools and product illustrations. Provide product technical and actuarial support to the SJP Group, including the Partnership, on areas such as Capital Gains Tax Calculations, Critical Yield Calculations, product functionality, illustrations and other calculations. Provide support to Actuarial Managers, Actuarial Consultants and different leads across the Division who may be leading projects or project workstreams. Example projects may include implementation of improvements to our investment proposition, annual charges reporting to clients or annual reviews of manufactured products. Support the maintenance of product documentation and our suite of advice tools to auditable standards. Liaise and manage relationships with teams across the business. Provide figures and analysis to support business decisions.

Who we're looking for:




We are looking for a motivated, analytically-minded individual with strong problem solving skills and a keen curiosity about pursuing an actuarial qualification. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with excellent communication abilities, capable of providing technical support and contributing to the development of financial products and advice tools. They should demonstrate integrity, attention to detail, and a dedication to delivering good outcomes for clients while embracing SJP's values and hybrid working model.

Essentials



Degree in a numerate or analytical subject (e.g. Maths, Economics, Engineering, Physics, Actuarial Science), preferably grade 2:1 or above. Willing to undertake actuarial exams Basic understanding of Excel and IT skills A solution-focused attitude

Desirable Criteria



Knowledge or experience of coding such a "R" or "VBA" Experience of using Excel for modeling or complex macros

Special Requirements:



Commitment to study towards the actuarial exams with the eventual aim of qualifying as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. A genuine enjoyment of study and the ability to self-manage your time are important This role is based in Cirencester- we operate a hybrid working approach, with an expectation to attend the office regularly.
