Workforce strategy is a newly established and growing specialist team within GAD. We provide strategic advice and analysis related to workforce modelling projections and strategic workforce planning to a diverse range of public service clients. We also advise on the interaction of reward and pensions, and bring a strategic approach to tackling broader workforce challenges.

Job description
We are seeking a qualified actuarial consultant to take on a truly unique role. The successful applicant will have an interest in applying an actuarial mindset to workforce challenges. The role will help build, and deliver a trusted, value-for-money workforce strategy service for our clients. It is a varied and fascinating role where you may be involved in research, product building, and business development as well as providing advice and analysis to GAD's client base.

Person specification
You will lead activities in the workforce strategy team, working alongside the Head of Workforce Strategy and other colleagues, to develop and deliver work in an efficient and collaborative manner. Responsibilities will include:
Building the workforce strategy client offering
Support the Head of Workforce Strategy to build a clear service offering that helps clients approach workforce challenges, and articulating it for various audiences
Proactively build your understanding of public sector workforce challenges and fit with GAD capabilities, through discussions with existing clients, subject experts and wider stakeholders
Support innovation in GAD's work, testing new ideas and develop early concepts into client advice products
Support efforts to build workforce expertise across GAD, enhancing future service delivery
Supporting business development activities
Develop internal and client-facing materials and thought leadership to support GAD efforts to raise awareness of workforce capabilities
Identify and develop new consulting opportunities, working with colleagues to pursue discussions and build relationships
Be active in building public sector contacts connected to workforce and reward
Leading client advice delivery
Provide actuarial advice to clients, which is technically accurate, forward thinking, mindful of conflicting client priorities, and meets GAD professional standards
