Job summary:
We're looking for a skilled Actuarial Data Analyst with an eye for detail and a passion for turning complex insurance data into clear, actionable insights. Joining our Actuarial Analytics and Business Insights team, you'll play a key role in building, maintaining, and improving our Power BI reports, helping the business make confident decisions. This is a great opportunity for someone with insurance industry experience to make a real impact, while also developing their skills in tools like Power Query and Snowflake, with plenty of room for career growth.
What you'll be doing:
Maintaining and enhancing our Power BI reports to ensure accuracy and consistency
Supporting the comparison of Power BI and legacy Tableau reports for ongoing projects
Running and updating monthly reporting cycles
Building new Power BI reports to meet business needs
Using Power Query to optimise reports (where experience allows)
Working with stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide clear, meaningful analysis
Helping with the transition of data systems from SQL/Access to Snowflake
Collaborating with actuarial, data, and business teams to deliver insight
What we're looking for:
Proven experience working with Power BI in a data or MI analyst role
Insurance industry knowledge (essential). General insurance is preferred, with actuarial experience a plus
Strong skills in SQL and DAX, with Power Query experience highly desirable
Comfortable with data analysis, validation, and producing clear visualisations
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while collaborating with multiple teams
Strong communication skills to explain data findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Bonus points for Snowflake or data migration project experience
Degree in a maths, statistics, or similar numerate discipline
