Learn more atJob ProfileGamer Network is looking to hire a Web Developer to work as part of our experienced in-house development team. The role is for a creative technologist with a background in front-end, UI and rich-media Web Development, working with and supporting our commercial team in the conception, design and creation of digital advertising content for the web.You must be able to point to a portfolio of web development work that demonstrates your ability to build the kind of smart, bespoke, interactive online experiences that would form the core of your role. Suitable examples would include dynamic banners, interactive media, bespoke / branded digital content, microsites, websites and any other relevant digital / web projects.You must be comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams (tech, design, sales, editorial, etc) and working to short and often fast-changing deadlines. The ability to work on multiple concurrent projects would be a staple of the role and an ability to communicate effectively as part of a dynamic and creative team of designers and media sales staff would be vital.Responsibilities Include:Produce ads and web pages from designsCreate slick interactive experiencesDevelop new tech for ads and test new ad formatsCollaborate with back-end developers to integrate front-end code with server-side logic.Debug and troubleshoot website and advertising content issues.Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends and technologies.Document code and technical specifications for projects.Optimize web pages and ads for performance and speed.Ensure cross-browser compatibility and accessibility standards are met.Assist in deploying and monitoring web applications and advertising campaigns.Required Skills and Experience:To be considered, you will need to demonstrate ability in any of:Develop with HTML5, CSS, and Javascript to a high standard.Experience of animating for the web (either in CSS or using packages such as Adobe Animate or Hype).Knowledge of artworking in Photoshop.Great communication instinctsExperience with responsive, mobile-first designA creative eye for both design as well as code.Demonstrable ability to work fast, often to tight deadlines.Desirable Skills and ExperienceExperience with some or all of the following will enhance your application:Knowledge of any commercial ad technology solutionsExperience of agency workVersion control using GithubKnowledge of UI frameworks such as Vue or React, along with build tools like WebpackAn interest in video games, gaming, and pop culture in general.Work Environment:Work Schedule: Standard full-time working schedule, M-F. Due to the nature of this role, you may have to work outside of normal working hours from time to time based on project needs and deliverables.Travel Requirements: No travel is required for this role.Physical Requirements: This role involves typical office and computer-based activities, including prolonged periods of sitting or standing and frequent use of hands, fingers, and vision for tasks such as operating a computer, mouse, and keyboard.Work Model: For applicants who reside in or around London, there may be a requirement to go into our offices 2-3 days per week.
