Priory Hospital Altrincham is looking to recruit an addictions therapy lead to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours.



Priory Hospital Altrincham provides expert treatment for a range of mental health conditions and addictions. The hospital is comprised of three inpatient units, providing specialist care for adults with range of mental health challenges and addictions. Altrincham also provides established, evidence-based outpatient treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, stress, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and bipolar disorder

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patientsLeading and supporting a diverse range of therapy staff including psychology, therapy, OT, assistants and any other specialisms that fall within the team's therapy needs. Facilitating regular management supervision with individuals in line with Priory policy, using a cascade system with other qualified therapists Follow people management policies to effectively manage the direct report within your team(s). An agreed reduced level of patient facing clinical hours to create line management responsibility, as agreed with the Therapy Business Manager.

What you'll bring to the role

The role requires a registered healthcare professional with HCPC accreditation (such as an occupational therapist or psychologist) and/or an experienced psychotherapist accredited with BACP, BABCP, or UKCP. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clear and motivational leadership skills to support a diverse therapy team, with a strong understanding of various therapy roles and their application in a mental health setting. They will also have experience in supporting individuals through management supervision and possess established skills in staff retention. The candidate should be able to provide examples of maintaining a calm and supportive approach in demanding environments, as well as having experience in a commercial or business setting, demonstrating an understanding of cost management.
