Job Description
Additional Support for Learning Classroom Assistant
Edinburgh Montessori Arts School is seeking a patient, creative, and reliable individual to provide one-to-one support for a child with additional support needs in our Montessori nursery class (ages 3-6). The role also includes supporting the wider classroom as needed and contributing to our after-school care provision.
This position requires direct experience working with neurodiverse early years learners, strong observational skills, and the ability to follow and adapt support plans in collaboration with the class teacher and external professionals. The successful candidate will support the child's engagement in the Montessori environment through thoughtful guidance and clear, consistent routines. A commitment to undertaking Montessori training at the early years level is essential.
Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5pm, term time.
Starting August 2025.
Essential Requirements:
Experience supporting neurodiverse children in an early years setting Patience, creativity, and strong communication skills PVG Scheme membership and SSSC registration (or willingness to obtain) Willingness to undertake Montessori training
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: 25,000.00 per year
