Admin and Bookkeeping Apprentice

Job Title: Admin and Bookkeeping Apprentice



Duties:



Bookkeeping Responsibilities:



Learn to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients under supervision Assist with processing financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable Support bank reconciliations and month-end closing procedures Help prepare basic financial reports and statements for clients Assist with VAT returns and tax return preparations Learn to use accounting software, including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Dext

Administrative Responsibilities:



Provide general office support including answering phones and handling client enquiries Manage incoming and outgoing post and emails Maintain client files and ensure document management systems are up-to-date Schedule appointments and manage diary coordination Assist with client onboarding and engagement letter processes Support the team with general administrative tasks as required Help maintain office supplies and equipment

General Responsibilities:



Collaborate with experienced team members to develop skills in both areas Participate in AAT apprenticeship training program and complete coursework Support the wider team during busy periods

Qualifications:



No prior bookkeeping or admin experience required - we will provide full training Basic numeracy and literacy skills essential Interest in pursuing a career in accounting/bookkeeping and office administration Willingness to learn and complete AAT apprenticeship qualification Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and teamwork skills Good organisational and time management abilities Professional telephone manner Reliable, punctual, and eager to develop professionally
