Location:

Crown Lodge Residential Home, Caerphilly/Hybrid working

Contract:

Part-Time (10 hours per week)

Rate:

17.50 per hour

Are you a proactive and multi-skilled professional with a passion for supporting others? We're looking for a dedicated

Administration & Maintenance Officer

to join our care home team. This unique role combines vital administrative support with hands-on maintenance, ensuring our home runs smoothly and safely for both residents and staff.

What You'll Do



Administrative Responsibilities



Maintain up-to-date records for residents, staff, and the home in line with data protection standards Assist the Manager with rota planning, meeting coordination, and appointment scheduling Manage incoming calls, emails, and post professionally Handle stock control for office and care supplies Support payroll, pensions, and financial record-keeping with the Finance Director Keep regulatory paperwork current and support regular audits Help induct and train new starters, ensuring regulatory training is met Coordinate activities and arrange transport for residents when required Use own vehicle or company vehicle to transport residents when required Provide on-call support during emergencies (own or company vehicle may be used) Assist the Manager with ad hoc duties as required

Maintenance Responsibilities



Perform minor repairs, painting, and general upkeep Carry out routine checks on safety systems including fire alarms and emergency lighting Act as Health & Safety Officer and ensure compliance across the home Maintain gardens and outdoor areas Liaise with contractors for plumbing, electrical, and heating work Keep maintenance and safety records up to date Complete minor plumbing repairs (plumbing qualification required) Conduct regular site audits and respond promptly to maintenance issues

What We're Looking For



Mandatory Requirements



Full, clean UK driving licence City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Plumbing Experience in payroll, bookkeeping, and financial procedures GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics Familiarity with SAGE, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and NOW: Pensions

Candidates without these will not be considered.


Desirable Skills



Background in administration or office management Care experience would be beneficial Experience in general maintenance or landscaping
