The Southgrove Group is a well-established, family-run business specialising in new build construction, you will be working across both our Painting and Flooring divisions and working on many of our projects across London and the surrounding M25 area.
We are looking for a driven and ambitious trainee to join our dynamic office team and work across both Commercial and Construction departments, this pivotal role ensures the smooth running of projects through efficient administrative coordination, excellent communication skills and proactive problem solving.
Our ideal candidate will have some construction admin experience, outstanding organisational skills, a muck in attitude and strong IT literacy. The role will be based at Southgrove's head office in Watford, with travel required to site projects
Duties
Co-ordinate and work closely with the Commercial Team when new projects are won, and issue completed project documents to the team.
Control and report on our QA system, liaise with Commercial and Construction re any missing QAs.
Control and process all evidence (photos and videos) for non-contract works for the Commercial team.
Update all the client apps, SnagR, Fieldview etc.
Be our customer care contact across all projects and ensure this process is run smoothly and efficiently.
Support the digitalisation of Southgrove (on site, wages, timesheets etc)
Support the Commercial team with estimating admin.
Assist in issuing RAMS and COSHH details for all new projects.
Organise health and safety visits when requested.
Liaise with our Buyer and complete all O & M manuals.
Assist and organise inductions on site for painters and floor fitters when necessary and support and guide them through this process.
Provide admin support for our Supervisors and Managers
Requirements
Prior office or clerical experience is preferred; strong organizational skills are essential
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent computer literacy with the ability to learn new software quickly
Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
This paid Admin Trainee position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in office administration in the construction industry and could lead you on a pathway towards estimating, quantity surveying or senior admin roles.
