We have a fantastic opportunity for an Administration Assistant to join our admin team based at Herschel Prins Centre, Glenfield Hospital Site.


The hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.


Herschel Prins Centre is an adult inpatient unit consisting of two wards for patients with mental health illness. The building also has two levels of offices occupied by staff members within the Forensic Mental Health Team.


As an Administration Assistant you will provide comprehensive administrative support as part of the existing reception team and any other administration duties as per the job description. Herschel Prins Centre is a busy low secure unit and the successful candidate will be responsible for control of access and the management of traffic in and out of the building such as patients, staff and visitors entering and leaving the premises via the airlock system ensuring the security of the building is maintained at all times.

Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)




The successful candidate will posses excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to liaise with service users in a calm and compassionate manner and the ability to work positively and proactively as part of the wider administrative and clinical teams.


As an Administration Assistant, you will be required to support the existing reception team with day to day duties and support the business administration assistants with patient record scanning and another other ad hoc administration duties as per the job description.


You will be ordering goods or services, monitoring progress of orders, checking receipt of goods or services to ensure invoices can be reconciled.


To develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external agencies.


To provide high quality customer care to anyone accessing the service, either face to face, via telephone or in writing.
