HR Manager



BACKGROUND TO THE COMPANY



Avtron is the global leader is power test equipment and specialises in the manufacture of Dynamometers and Load Banks. We are experienced in working with, and satisfying, multi-national organizations, utilities, and government departments, as well as specialist companies involved in mission critical, OEM, service, plant hire and power generation. Main Purpose of the Job

The Senior HR Manager will be responsible for the people and culture of our Stamford facility. This is a key leadership role supporting all aspects of employee life-cycle.



Key Responsibilities



1. Recruitment and Selection:



Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent. Co-ordinate the hiring process, including job positions, screening resumes, interviews and liaising with the department hiring manager to make job offers. Ensure legal compliance with requirements and company policies during the recruitment process.

2. Employee Relations:



Handle employee relation matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures. Promote a positive work environment to facilitate employee morale and engagement. Ensure appropriate follow-up is taking place after receiving feedback on the quarterly Employee Survey (eNPS). Address performance issues and work with managers to develop improvements plans.

3. Performance Management:



Develop and implement performance management systems in conjunction with department managers to set goals, evaluate performance and feedback mechanisms. Identify training and development needs and co-ordinate training programmes to enhance employee skills and performance. Address performance issues and work with managers to develop improvement plans.

4. Compensation and Benefits:



Interact with the site General Manager to execute Avtron's employee compensation and benefits programmes, including salary structures, bonuses, and incentives. Conduct salary surveys to ensure competitive compensation practices. Administer employee benefits programme.

5. HR Administration:



Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, payroll information and attendance records. Ensure compliance with labour laws, regulations, and company policies. Handle administrative tasks such as employee onboarding and offboarding.

6. HR Strategy and Planning

Collaborate with senior management to develop HR strategies aligned with organisational goals and objectives. Analyse HR metrics and data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement. Stay updated on HR best practices and industry trends to continuously improve HR processes and policies.

7. Employee Engagement and Retention:



Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Actively participate and champion Avtron's recognition program.

8. Legal Compliance:



An understanding of labour laws, rules regulation and best practice. Stay abreast of changes in employment legislation and update HR policies and procedures accordingly. Handle legal matters related to employment issues, such as discrimination claims or labour disputes. HR Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to HR Generalist and ensure all priorities and deadlines are met. Represent the HR function in meetings with senior management and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Graduate calibre with applicable accredited CIPD qualification. The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate at least 5+ years in HR within an Engineering / Manufacturing company.

Proven Skills

Self-starter with ability to work autonomously. High-level HR management and development skills. Planning skills - able to develop and deploy high quality HR plan. Systems/process management - able to establish and ensure compliance with HR policy and guidelines. Written communication skills - able to produce a variety of written material including reports, promotions, policies etc. Personal presentation skills. Listening skills. IT literate across all standard office functions.
