The Mackintosh School of Architecture is seeking a highly organised and proactive Academic Administrator (Quality) to join our dedicated administrative team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality academic programmes and ensure compliance with internal and external quality assurance standards.






About the Role





You'll be part of a forward-thinking team that supports a diverse and growing portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The administrative team aims to provide a modern professional service that supports academic excellence and innovation.






As Administrative Assistant (Quality), you will play a key role in supporting the academic quality and operations of the Mackintosh School of Architecture. You will work closely with academic and professional colleagues to ensure the school meets internal quality assurance requirements and external regulatory standards.



Your responsibilities will include:


Ensuring the school aligns with GSA's quality assurance policies and procedures, providing guidance and training to academic staff.

Managing short-term quality assurance projects and contributing to the continuous improvement of administrative processes.

Developing timelines and committee schedules to support quality assurance activities.

Coordinating and servicing committee meetings, including agenda preparation, document tracking, minute taking, and follow-up actions.

Leading the coordination of annual returns to Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs) such as ARB and RIBA.

Supporting the production and collation of documentation for programme monitoring, programme/course specification updates, and programme approval and validation processes.

Supporting annual planning activities and external examiner visits.

Responding to Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests in line with GSA procedures.

About You





We welcome applications from candidates who are:


Educated to Higher Grade level (or equivalent).

Experienced in administrative roles, ideally within a Higher or Further Education environment although we will consider outstanding applicants with demonstrable relevant experience in other industries.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with project management software is desirable.

Skilled in committee servicing, document management, and stakeholder communication.

Detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to delivering a high standard of service.
