About the Thalidomide Trust

The Thalidomide Trust is a charity which was established in 1973 to provide assistance and support to people born in the UK with disabilities caused by their mother taking the drug Thalidomide.

Currently the Trust supports 423 beneficiaries aged between 60 and 66 years, living with a range of physical disabilities including limb damage, hearing and visual impairment, musculoskeletal problems, brain and sensory impairment and damage to internal organs.

Unlike most charities, we have secure funding. This means that we do not have to actively fundraise but, instead, can focus our resources on meeting the needs of our beneficiaries.
