To efficiently manage the reception area at EdStart Schools, providing exceptional customer service while supporting and enhancing the school's attendance strategy. The role involves collaborating with staff, students, and families to improve attendance outcomes, ensuring students are engaged, supported, and able to access their education.
Key responsibilities
:
To maintain and run a busy reception area, providing excellent customer service both in person and over the phone.
To liaise with school staff team ensuring accurate register keeping and identifying areas for improvements within the systems of register keeping.
To collate information with regard to the attendance of pupils who may be experiencing attendance difficulties in order to inform school, relevant agencies and parents.
To enhance the work of the management by contributing to whole school attendance strategies and systems.
To work with identified individual and groups of pupils, using regular attendance checks and contact with parents/carers and pupils to improve levels of attendance.
To contact all absent pupils on a daily basis and organise transport where possible.
To assist with the identification of pupils who will receive support in improving their attendance record.
To work with parents/carers in improving their child's attendance record and coordinating parental support and training where appropriate.
To work with a regular group of pupils using regular attendance checks and contact with parents to improve levels of attendance.
To collate, maintain and update behaviour and attendance data
To undertake home and school visits as designated by the school.
To work alongside relevant staff, Contact Teachers, Senior Management, Learning Support Assistants, Education Welfare Officer, Connexions to exchange information and determine appropriate levels of intervention.
To attend and assist in the preparation of Inclusion Panel meetings, parent's meetings, assemblies in relation to attendance issues.
To work with pupils and families identified by the school.
To contribute to the maintenance of records and information systems such as registers both, computerised and manual with due regard for data protection and confidentiality.
To maintain other records such as Admissions and Discharges, incidents / accidents and policy files.
To promote the speedy and effective transfer of information on identified children and young people between schools, the setting and other agencies as appropriate.
To comply with all relevant legislation and EdStart policy and procedures.
To undertake additional duties as required by the Centre Manager
To liaise with the designated teachers for child protection in each school and deal appropriately with child protection issues.
