How you'll make a difference:
Working in the Community Safety team, you will provide a range of administrative and technical support work, helping to ensure the delivery of a wide range of projects and initiatives such as tackling community safety priorities such as anti-social behaviour.
What you will be doing:
You will be involved with the day-to-day operation and management of the council's CCTV systems across a range of services. Working with key partners such as Avon and Somerset Constabulary, you will help tackle crime to allow vulnerable residents and communities to stay safe across South Gloucestershire.
Daily, you will be the main point of contact for the Community Safety team and the designated CCTV Officer, providing effective administrative support.
It will be key for you to provide support to the CCTV Officer in the planning and co-ordination of the supply and monitoring of CCTV and assist with maintaining budgets/financial information and resources.
You will help arrange multi-agency meetings of both internal and external groups such as police, social workers and schools to help improve tensions within the local community.
It will be your responsibility to maintain records and analyse information to ensure compliance with data protection and the relevant legislation.
You will help the team respond quickly to issues within the community and provide reassurance to residents.
What we need from you:
You must hold a minimum of 3 GCSEs (grade 4 or above) including English and maths or an equivalent qualification, or have relevant experience in administering confidential records and databases.
It essential for you to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with service users as well as professionals and partnership agencies using a variety of media such as email, phone, face to face, taking minutes etc.
You will have practical skills and experience in using a range of IT packages with experience in using databases, including running standard reports, analysing data and presenting findings.
What you need to know:
This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road, Yate and from home.
