Would you like to play a key role in a busy GP surgery?
We have 1 permanent full-time role immediately available.
We are seeking an administrator who is highly organised, confident and self-motivated and who has the ability to work effectively as part of the team. Good communication skills (both written and oral) are essential, as is the ability to work independently within a busy office.
If you have the necessary experience to hit the ground running, or have transferable skills which you feel would make you suitable for the role with further training, we would encourage you to apply.
Please note that we reserve the right to close the post early if we receive sufficient suitably qualified candidates before the closing date. Please therefore apply as soon as possible.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a GP surgery, specifically within administrative roles. We are particularly looking for individuals who have prior experience of medical secretary work, clinical coding and summarising of historical Lloyd George notes. We would also be interested to hear from other candidates who have prior experience of working in a similar administrative role.
The administrative team comprises circa 11 members of staff who undertake many of the non patient-facing roles within the surgery.
The well-established team includes:
medical secretaries who manage all referrals to secondary care
document handlers who manage all incoming clinical correspondence, workflow relevant documents to GPs in line with agreed protocols and file letters to patient medical records.
an administrator who manages the upgrade and ongoing maintenance of the IT hardware and software.
an administrator who manages the GP and nursing rotas.
St Johns Surgery is based in the heart of Bromsgrove in the BHI Parkside building from where it provides GP services to nearly 16,000 patients in the Bromsgrove, Wychbold and surrounding areas.
There is a strong team ethos throughout the surgery.
