Job Description

On behalf of DEFRA - Environment Agency, we are looking for an Administrator - Inside IR35 for a 6 Month contract (with possible extension) based Hybrid - Remote & minimum 2 days p/week in Bootle, Merseyside.



The Environment Agency (EA) and the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) work collaboratively to deliver safety and environmental regulation of Nuclear New Build. To enable effective and efficient support, we maintain a Joint Programme Office, based at ONR's headquarters in Bootle, Merseyside. Our projects assess new nuclear reactor designs as part of Generic Design Assessment; and deliver the required environmental permits and safety licenses that enable construction and operation of proposed new nuclear power stations.



As an Administrator your main responsibilities will be to:



Coordinate and schedule meetings between developers, designers, and regulators, ensuring accurate tracking and follow-up. Provide secretariat support for key programme/project meetings, including preparing documentation and recording actions. Maintain and update project management tools such as dashboards, risk registers, and progress reports. Process and manage regulatory information in line with records management policies, ensuring seamless data flow and audit trails. Deliver general administrative support including diary management, inbox handling, and stakeholder engagement. Assist with light-touch project management tasks and system data transfers, with full training provided.

You'll have:



Strong Administration skills & experience. MS Office proficiency. Excellent organisation & communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment. Project Management environment experience - desirable.
