The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA) is a globally-recognised professional body dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in the loss adjusting profession. Established in 1961 to support and develop professionals in the field, CILA provides industry-leading qualifications and thought leadership to ensure expertise in claims handling to over 4,500 members both in the UK and growing international audience.

The CILA team is made up of five permanent members of staff who are supported by a network of volunteers who sit on our Council, Committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGS).

This is an exciting time to join the Institute as we focus on developing our systems and governance processes to better support our membership. This role will is integral in helping us implement these changes as we make the transition to new platforms and processes.

The Institute has an Agile Working Policy meaning that remote work and flexible working hours are possible subject to the Institute's needs and delivery on all Institute objectives.

This job description outlines the key accountabilities of, and output required from, the postholder. This is not an exhaustive list, and the role may change and evolve over time.

Manage the membership inbox, responding to members, prospective members and other parties as required. Deal with pending membership applications, processing of renewals and elevations of members to new grades. Oversee the Fellowship and Chartered Status referencing process, and the creation and distribution of CILA Examination certificates. Distribute exam scripts to appropriate markers based on subject. Maintain records of which scripts are assigned to which markers and track their progress throughout the grading period. Ensure database content for membership is always up to date and accurate. This includes recording of delegate attendance at events and keeping member details up-to-date. Address any member questions or issues related to certificates in a timely and professional manner. Assist in producing delegate packs, joining instructions and badges for conferences and members meetings, and ensure timely preparation and distribution of materials for events, such as hand-outs, training packs and post-event evaluation forms. Process events bookings and answering queries from members and delegates. Attend CILA events, including the Annual Conference, as a CILA ambassador. Other duties as reasonably required as part of a collaborative team.

Be an excellent communicator; Self-motivated and able to prioritise a full workload, managing risks and flagging opportunities as they arise; Be solutions focused and seek out to improve processes on an individual and team level; Be an excellent administrator, confident implementing and improving processes as required; Enjoy developing strong working relationships with our volunteer network, members, and other internal and external stakeholders; Have a passion for developing new skills and learning; Be computer literate with previous experience of CRM systems; An interest and willingness to learn about the Insurance and Claims sector.

Pay: Up to 30,000.00 per year
