Working as part of a team you will primarily be responsible for checking medical transcriptions on Hive, correcting where necessary and ensuring any follow up actions are carried out in a timely manner, ensuring trust and departmental deadlines are met.
Sorting and distribution of incoming mail both electronic and paper form, ensuring all supporting documentation is available on Hive.
Arranging investigations/appointments within the Trust and outside as and when required.
The post-holder would be expected to commit to on-the-job learning, where necessary i.e. expansion of medical terminology knowledge, relevant policies, and procedures.
To ensure variety of role, you will also be involved in assisting with preparing for MDT and supporting with admin arising from outpatient clinics, inpatients stays and surgery.
Dealing with telephone enquiries, promptly and communicating accordingly thereafter.
Dealing with all patients and their relatives/carers in a caring and professional manner, providing admission/appointment information where appropriate.
Dealing with the waiting lists of the consultant / clinical team as and when required.
Monitoring and managing outpatient clinics, ensuring they are not over/under utilised.
Undertaking routine clerical duties and any other tasks relevant to the role as requested as and when required.
Qualifications
Proven office experience with a strong focus on administrative roles.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent typing skills and ability to perform data entry accurately.
Familiarity with phone etiquette and customer service principles.
Previous NHS experience.
