Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Administrator to join our team.

Milton Abbot, Lydford and Bridestowe Primary Schools

are three small, village based primary schools with 65, 33 and 88 children respectively. We are really fortunate have small but dedicated staff teams who are friendly, welcoming and supportive of all colleagues. Their dedication and commitment enable to children to flourish, thrive and grow in their own unique learning journey from age 2 and up. The children and parent groups are engaged and supportive of the schools and we are looking for an administrator to take over and support in all three settings and the administration of their mixed ages classes. We relish the relationships we have established with parents and the wider community and it is this that will underpin the role of administrator: a link between school and these essential stakeholders.

Our Trust comprises of 19 schools, 3 Colleges, 15 Primaries, and one All Through SEMH Special school. Established in 2018. We are situated in beautiful Devon on the out the outskirts of the stunning Dartmoor National Park. The schools vary in size and are all unique. Our schools are a large part of their local communities, and we value those relationships with families and locals.

Summary of Role:



Providing administrative and organisational support to the school that will involve dealing with sensitive and confidential information regarding staff and pupils. It is essential to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in relation to all school matters.

To ensure the smooth day to day operation of the administrative service to the school.

Maintaining and devising efficient and effective processes and procedures including overseeing and monitoring the use of school systems.

Coordinating, preparing, and issuing communication with parents and staff within the school and across the trust as required.

Supporting the Executive Headteacher and leadership team with compliance processes such as the Single Central Record and Health and Safety.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:



This role is primarily to support the Executive Headteacher and leadership team in the day to day effective running of the schools, ensuring the systems, practices, and events are coordinated efficiently and expediently. Escalating queries/complaints appropriately and in a timely way so as to give assurance and confidence to the enquirer. This role will work closely with school staff to provide efficient support across the school to ensure uninterrupted learning and education to create a great pupil experience.

Maintaining school records so as to ensure compliance with statutory and organisational policies and regulations including safeguarding.

Coordinating the completion of the Single Central Record and ensuring routine checks are undertaken in conjunction with the Executive Headteacher and/or Designated Safeguarding Leads.

The role holder will be adaptable and resilient, ready to undertake a diverse range of tasks including the following:

To ensure the smooth day to day operation of the admin service to the school, maintaining and devising efficient and effective administrative processes and procedures. To maintain standards, appropriate to admin service requirements of the school via management of the administration team. To be personally responsible for producing reports and statistics on a regular basis. To ensure Health and Safety requirements are met. May provide routine local advice and guidance on ICT issues. To monitor the operation of the finance systems. To process orders, invoices and payments. To provide advice and guidance within established frameworks. To make decisions affecting the admin service provided to the school at a local level, based on own understanding of problems, from within the range of choices covered by established frameworks. Regularly redefine staff priorities in order to achieve deadlines required by those outside of the team.

Training Details:

Location: Central Head Office (Wardhayes) 8 Simmons Way, Okehampton, EX20 1PY

Purpose: To provide comprehensive training on company policies, procedures, and systems necessary for successful integration into the role.

Training Schedule: Daily sessions from 9am to 4pm, with breaks provided.
