Role Overview:


The Part-Time Administrative Assistant will support the daily operations of our joinery workshop, with a strong focus on administration and materials procurement. A major aspect of the role involves ordering and tracking wood-based materials and components required for our commercial projects, ensuring everything arrives on time and aligns with production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:



General office administration including phones, emails, filing and document management Processing and managing purchase orders, particularly for wood-based materials (MDF, plywood, veneers, laminates etc.) Tracking material deliveries and maintaining stock levels Liaising with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement Assisting with scheduling of production jobs and deliveries Creating and maintaining job sheets, project timelines and material logs Supporting basic bookkeeping and invoicing using QuickBooks Managing health & safety records and compliance documentation Supporting communication between clients, workshop teams and external contractors

Requirements:



Previous administrative experience (ideally within manufacturing, construction or commercial joinery) Understanding of wood-based materials and joinery terminology is highly desirable Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Good written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident using digital admin tools Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently

Desirable:



Experience in ordering or stock control of wood-based materials Familiarity with project tracking or inventory management systems Background in a workshop or production environment
