Job Description

The University of Northampton are looking for a temporary Admissions administrator to support the existing team.

The role involves being part of the University's centralised admissions service, committed to delivering excellent customer service to meet the needs of applicants, and a range of stakeholders. Focus on providing exceptional support and guidance to applicants throughout the application and enrolment process, ensuring clear communication and an applicant-centred service.

Duties and responsibilities



oTo receive and process applications for the University against given criteria.

oTo have a comprehensive understanding of a portfolio of courses, and associated processes, regulations, policies and procedures.

To provide standard advice and guidance on applications, admissions processes, regulations and policies as appropriate. To respond effectively to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders across multiple communications platforms including telephone, email, social, web, face-to-face. To provide applicants, and internal and external stakeholders, with the highest standards of customer focussed service and professionalism. To maintain and update the student record system including applicants' personal details, email and telephone communications, application and interview decisions, deferrals, transfers, restarts and withdrawals. Represent Admissions at University student, applicant and recruitment events, including enrolments, clearing, drop-in sessions, reception activities, webinars, open days, applicant visits, interviews and discovery days. Maintain the admissions email accounts and monitor service level agreements. To have a thorough understanding of fee status compliance, APL, UK and international qualifications and equivalencies, and associated admissions procedures, regulations and policies.

Skills and experience



Five GCSEs (to include English Language) at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent qualification or relevant experience

Excellent IT skills including experience of databases and Microsoft Office

Experience of working independently and as part of a team

Experience of delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders

Ability to identify issues and problems and use initiative to identify solutions

Experience of adhering to procedures, precedents, policy or legislation

Demonstrable experience in multi-tasking and handling of complex processes

Experience of working within an office environment

Experience of managing busy workloads and prioritising competing deadlines

Positive and flexible approach

Excellent, effective and clear written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail

Pay: 12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
