The Role;



Newham College is looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic

Admissions Officer

to join our dynamic Admissions team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced educational environment, supporting prospective students throughout their journey into education. The postholder will undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the day-to-day operations of the College's admissions service, ensuring processes are responsive, efficient, and aligned with internal policies and external regulations. The role is crucial in delivering a professional, customer-focused experience from initial enquiry through to enrolment.

Key responsibilities;



Administer admissions processes for all College programmes, including Further Education (FE), Higher Education (HE), apprenticeships, and adult learning. Ensure the timely and accurate processing of applications in accordance with College admissions policies and funding regulations. Participate in team briefings and contribute to the monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs); liaise regularly with the Admissions Manager on workflow and operational trends. Provide prompt and professional responses to enquiries about courses and admissions procedures, maintaining a high standard of customer service. Deliver high-quality information, advice and guidance to prospective and current students, as well as parents. Assist with applicant interviews and enrolment activities; collect and input student data accurately into College systems.

Our Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience.



Experience in an administrative role, ideally within an educational setting. Level 2 Maths & English Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of admissions or student services processes is desirable.

The salary for this position is inclusive of London weighting. Please note that it is Newham College's policy to offer all roles at the entry point of the salary scale advertised. However, based on your qualifications and experience, we may offer a higher starting salary within the specified salary range.
