Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organised part-time Admissions Officer to join our College. This position is for 7 hours per week, worked over two days (including Fridays), during term time plus one additional week (39 weeks per year). We are happy to offer flexibility for the right candidate, so if you have relevant experience and are interested in the role but require alternative working arrangements, we encourage you to apply.

Information About The Post

Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which is proud to be rated by Ofsted as 'outstanding' in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.



The Admissions & Marketing team is responsible for students joining the College, including: providing information, advice and guidance to prospective students in interviews; administering the admissions process; liaising with schools including attending their careers events; organising College events such as our Welcome Days. The team also organises marketing such as promotion of news stories and production of publicity material such as our prospectus.



As one of our Admissions Officers, you will be involved in a range of these activities. You must therefore have a genuine empathy with young people, preferably with experience of the post-16 education environment and curriculum. You will be a main point of contact for Admissions enquiries and will be responsible for dealing with day-to-day administration of the department, as well as conducting campus tours for prospective students and their families. You will have strong communication, administrative and IT skills, along with experience of organising events. This a varied and fast-paced role and so a flexible approach to working hours and being able to work as part of a team is essential.
