We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Adult Support Workers to join our team, working with a client based in and around Rumney, Cardiff. In this role, you will provide essential support to Adults with Support Needs, helping them achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life. Work is not restricted to this area, but also to other areas of Cardiff too.
You will work closely with the client, families and other professionals to implement care plans tailored to each service users needs. Your ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate empathy will be crucial in fostering a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Assist Adults with daily activities in a specific residential setting, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
Implement individual care plans in collaboration with families and other healthcare professionals either on site or Head Office.
Provide emotional support and encouragement to the service users, helping them build confidence and help their character.
Drive or walk to appointments or activities as required with service users, ensuring timely arrival. Though this can be rare as Residential Care Homes have support visiting service users.
Maintain accurate records of progress and any incidents that occur during your shifts, if required.
Communicate regularly with families regarding progress and any concerns.
Utilize IT systems for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in care if required.
Requirements
3 months plus UK care experience. We will look at applications from Support Workers from foreign Countries as long as they have relevant experience working with Adults & Support, preferably with elderly people.
Valid DBS on update service (Children & Adult), though we can provide this independently at cost to candidate. We can also look at Adult DBS Certificates only.
Right to Work in UK in place, and residing in the South Wales area. Please do not apply if you live overseas, or live outside of South Wales.
A valid UK Manual Driving License is preferred but not essential. You have to be confident that you can get to and from shifts in good time.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with children, families, and colleagues. Candidates who only speak broken English won't be considered sadly.
Familiarity with implementing care plans is advantageous. The understanding and following of care plans at all times is crucial.

Ability to work flexibly, adapting to the varying needs of the Adults you support.
